Building Your Own Editing Checklist
Your book is finished. Now comes the hard part! Editing! Goldie will tell us where to start this process and will address common mistakes as well as your own personal mistakes then end with tips for polishing your manuscript.
G. A. Edwards is a retired English teacher now spending her days as a writer, editor, speaker, and founder and co-administrator of a local writing group. A lover of all things books, her goal is to share the joys of literature one word at a time.
A voracious reader of numerous genres from an early age, she now writes gritty contemporary thrillers for teens with flawed heroes you’ll want to come out on top. She’s even thrown in a couple of suspense and romance short stories.
Memberships in Midwest Romance Authors, Writers of Warrensburg, and as a previous intern for the New Adult line with Entangled Publishing, L.L.C. helped hone her writing skills and introduced her to the many authors she counts as friends.
She lives in the Midwest where she enjoys working with budding and experienced authors, traveling with her husband, and spoiling the grandchildren she is barely old enough to claim. She swears she loves teens, a good story, and her minivan, but avoids celery, glitter, and squirrels when possible.
Visitors welcome!
Email Group
All MRW members have access to our private IO Email Group. This communication tool is used for MRW announcements, member questions, and between-meeting discussions. Our members enjoy weekly motivational quotes, accountability, and the ability to keep each other up to date on good news.
Critiques
We feature frequent open critique sessions and all members have the opportunity to join a critique small-group which meets on a regular basis.
Retreat
MRW hosts an annual members-only writing retreat in October. The annual retreat is chock-full of mini-programs, open critique, creative writing exercises, and lots of laughter and fun with fellow writers.
